inside wireman
The Inside Wireman installs and maintains all of the various types of electrical systems found in commercial and industrial facilities. This may include:
Planning & initiating Projects
Providing temporary power
Installing service equipment and complete grounding systems
Raceway planning and installation
Wiring up various forms of motor controls, HVAC systems, and specialized equipment
Receptacle and Lighting system installation
Troubleshooting and repairing of Electrical Systems and components
Fire alarm, data, and security system installation
Building Automation System and Energy Management Systems
Installation of Systems both high overhead and underground
In order to accomplish these duties, Inside Wiremen employ a variety of tools ranging from one-hand and two-handed tools to power tools such as drills and tuggers. They also are frequently required to operate equipment such as trenchers and aerial lifts.
COMPENSATION
During their apprenticeship, apprentices are paid at a graduated rate based upon the number of working hours they have logged.
INSIDE WIREMAN APPRENTICE WAGES
During their apprenticeship, apprentices are paid a percentage of journeyman scale based upon the number of working hours they have logged.
- 1 – 1,000 hours 40%
- 1,001 – 2,000 hours 45%
- 2,001 – 3,500 hours 55%
- 3,501 – 5,000 hours 65%
- 5,001 – 6,500 hours 75%
- 6,501 – 8,000 hours 80%
- 8,001 to completion 90%
